HISTORICAL IMAGE CAPTION CONTEST

CAPTIONS

1. All entries must be an original work created by the participant and must not infringe on any rights, including copyright or trademark. 

2. Captions should be clear and fit the specified image of the contest. 

3. Each caption can have a maximum of 15 words.

4. Participants should ensure that their captions do not contain personal, inappropriate or offensive content about the image or another person, object or entity. 

5. Participants should be aware that some or all captions will be published on a public site with the participant's name.

SUBMISSIONS

1. Each person can submit maximum two captions.

2. Entries must be submitted by the contest deadline of May 31, 2026 11.59 pm EST

3. Anyone over the age of 18 can participate. 

4. Captions must be accompanied by requested contact and verification info.

5. Only captions submitted via the submission form above will be accepted. Please do not send them to our contact email or use any other means of submission.

JUDGING AND WINNING

1. Captions will be judged based on creativity, relevance to the image and adherence to the contest rules. 

2. Winners will only be selected from amongst CHS current members, although others may be recognized for creativity. Membership of winners is verified via an email code. 

3. By submitting a caption, participants are allowing CHS to use it without conditions in CHS's future events and materials. 

4. We will decline submissions that violate any of our posted rules. We cannot plan for all scenarios, so there may be times when we must use our discretion. 

5. All decisions are final.
